The Little Mermaid (Limited Issue)
best movie

I'd been looking for this video for quite awhile for my daughter, who was anxious to see "Ursula" after collecting some plastic likenesses of her. ................. I love the Disney witches, and collect them with my daughter. Ursula is one of the best villains ever created. She's right up there with "Maleficent", "The Evil Queen""Old Hag" and "Cruella DeVille". She is wonderfully animated, and appropriately voiced with the deep guttural tone of Pat Carroll. Her scenes in the movie are by far, my favorite ones. I also like Sebastian the cranky, but sweet crab who helps Ariel's Dad, King Triton, look out for his landlubber daughter................."The Little Mermaid" is infinitely watchable and not too scary like some Disney movies eg. 101 Dalmatians. That one in particular gave my daughter fears for months see my review. I feel strongly, that unless indicated otherwise, a "childrens" G-rated movie should be happy, and this one is.................... If you want to get swept away by Disney, "The Little Mermaid" is the film to choose. Although it is a more recent entry, it is very reminiscent of the high quality, and uniqueness found in their earlier filmography. "The Little Mermaid" quickly gained status as a classic for this reason, and just as quickly, it should gain a permanent spot in your film library too.

Queen - On Fire at the Bowl
Hot Space Tour Rocks....Freddie Why did You have to Go

Ok, first of all let me say that this is not for people that are home system technology freaks the "If it's newer, it must be better set" w sunken plasma screen tvs, speakers throughout the house, rack mounted system, no turntable and no vhs player....etc........This dvd was recorded in 1982, therefore, not for the dvd format like Yessongs was and got trounced on Amazon reviews, sadly, so relax.......wheew that felt good....Edit, there are tons of reviewers raking the picture quality over the coals.....mo-rons...

Overall it's an incredible performance, they did a great job restoring this footage...the opening footage is grainy but greatly improves once Queen gets to the stage...so be patient.....The set list is amazing the Hot Space songs are better than the record I was totally blown away by Fat Bottom Girls and the intro harmony.....amazing Queen is at the top of their game despite poor sales for Hot Space.....Truly recommended for the hardcore Queen fan...now let's get the Jazz Tour on DVD

Mystery Science Theater 3000 - Manos, the Hands of Fate
Hands...Hands of Fate

Y'know, I've met the guy who wrote and directed this thing torrent. I've met the guy who plays the race-carmake-out guy. I've been to the little shack that they filmed it at. This isn't because I've traveled cross-country, but because I live in El Paso, Texas, where it was filmed. Lemme just say this:
Manos: The Hands of Fate, did NOTHING to help bolster the El Paso movie scene, but it's perhaps one of the most cherished MST3K's in my possesion. I saw it on its first airing, and have purchased the DVD copy the MINUTE I knew it was available just to see the unedited version that comes with the DVD.
It didn't help, but did give me a chance to show my astute skills of memorization in that I quoted EVERY line. Maybe I'm just a fan of MST3K very true, or Manos: The Hands of Fate strikes a chord deep in my El Pasoan psyche I hope and pray that aint true. In any event, were you to begin purchasing MST3K products, either on VHS or DVD, make EVERY effort to secure this harbinger of cinematic doom for your collection.
And please, as was said in the MST3K guide and companion book, don't give away the secret ending to Manos: The Hands of Fate..

Batman Returns
The best Batman Film Period

What are these professional reviewers thinking Of all of the Batman films, this one had the best character development, stongest visual style, and most complex emotions. You do feel bad for the Penguin at the end...at that is good, because he it not totally evil... And Michele was perfect.
If you want mainstream hype this is not the film for you. If you want a film where Burton dares to be an artist, this one needs to be in your DVD library. Perfect film during the holidays. Film set at Chirstmas time

Jim Carrey Double Feature (Man on the Moon/Liar Liar)
AN AMAZING PREFORMANCE BY JIM CARREY

I was never a big fan of Andy Kaufman's; as a matter of fact, I only really knew him as Latka, from Taxi a role, I discovered, he never really wanted Nevertheless, the movie STILL held my attention all the way through, and I feel that Jim Carrey put on a stellar preformance in his portrayal of the late entertainer So who was the "real" Andy Kaufman Was he brilliant Crazy Misunderstood Or just plain weird Even after watching the movie, he remains an enigma - which is probably EXACTLY as he would have wanted it Kauffman was unique; I guess there is no denying that. The movie is a bit disturbing, what with Kauffman's losing battle of cancer at the end. But then again, that's what really happened, and even if you didn't follow Kauffman's carreer, the ending will still touch your psyche. All in all, I'd say this was a VERY WELL-DONE movie; a moving tribute to Kauffman, himself, and a film that is definitely worth viewing, even if, like myself, you were never a huge fan

In the Mouth of Madness
"I think, therefore you are."

This is my favorite of John Carpenter's films ed2k. I loved his older stuff like "The Fog", and "The Thing", but this I think is his masterpiece. Carpenter delved deep into the dark and mostly unknown world of H.P. Lovecraft, and though he's never given credit, it's obvious to a Lovecraft fan that he's the inspiration here. Even some of the characters were named after Lovecraft's. Mrs. Pickman for example. It's also the best film I've seen dealing with Lovecraftian themes.
Aside from the Lovecraftian stuff, it's also a great "what if" movie. What if everything we know as reality is suddenly gone, and a new reality replaces it. Who is insane now
The cast is good, with Sam Neill playing the main character, John Trent. An ambitious and egotistical insurance investigator, on a search for a missing writer, whose publishing company is waiting for his latest manuscript. His character is a little cliche, but at the end of the film you understand why that is completely.
The writer he's looking for, Sutter Cane, played brilliantly by Jurgen Prochnow, has a fanatical following, and his readers are going crazy -literally- from reading his books.
There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing, and the ending is a twist all its own. A very enjoyable, suspenseful film, check it out.

Ghostbusters 1 & 2
Super Movies

These movies are super.
Ghostsbusters 1: I love this movie the best out of the two. This film tells how the guys got into business. This film is the most exciting in my opinion. I love it because you learn the history of the Ghostbusters. I just wish that it was availble in full screen too.
Ghostbusters 2: This film has it's good moments. But it also has it's bad moments. This film is my second favorite of the two. There are some funny moments in the film. I do suggest watching the Ghostbusters 2 as well.
I have both films on VHS and DVD. I also have both soundtracks on CD. Once you see the movies you will want to buy the soundtracks. The songs from the films are wonderful. My favorite song from the first movie is "I Can Wait Forever" by Air Supply.

Edge of Seventeen
A Beautiful '80s Soundtrack

If you grew up in the early '80s and loved the popular music of the day - New Wave, of course - you're going to go crazy for this great soundtrack. It's a well-chosen collection, going for powerful favorites rather than just the Top 40 hits. For example, the Eurythmics are represented here not by Sweet Dreams but by the upbeat and delightful Right By Your Side. And who remembered to put the seemingly lost hit The Politics Of Dancing on this disc Fabulous A great soundtrack for a great movie.

American Wedding (Widescreen Extended Unrated Party Edition)
Fun

Unlike some I watched the American Pie movies only maybe twice. The first movie was better than the second in my opinion. However, American wedding was hilarious. I laughed so hard at Stifler in this movie. I am actually happy with the cast that remained in this installment of the series. With this movie it makes me feel like they should have simply used these remaining cast members for the entire series. I have seen this movie 3 times and I laugh each time I watch it. It is a great summer movie just for a good fun experience at the movies.
